What’s a netID?
A netID is your online identity with WCC. It and your password are keys that let you access online services ranging from your WCC email account to MyWCC, where you register for classes, check your grades, and more. Your netID is the part of your WCC email address that comes before the @ sign.

- What’s a netID?
Your netID is your online identity with WCC. It and your password are keys that let you access numerous online services offered by the College. Your netID is the part of your WCC email address that comes before the @ sign.
- What WCC online services can I access with my netID and password?
Some of the services you can access include:
- Your WCC email account
- The Blackboard online class management system
- MyWCC, the system where students register for classes, review their financial aid status, and check their grades, and employees access their personal payroll and benefits information
- Online Billing and Payments
- Your work computer if you’re an employee
- How do I get a netID?
You must set up an account, which includes choosing a password.
- Are there any special requirements regarding the password that I choose?
Yes. It must be between 12 and 32 characters long and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
- Why do I have to choose three security questions when I set up my netID account?
We’ll use your answers to the questions to help confirm your identity if you forget your password.
- How do I choose good security questions when I set up my netID account?
Choose questions where the answers are only known to you, would be hard for someone else to guess, and are easy for you to remember.
- Do I have to set up a netID account?
Yes. Students and employees must have netID accounts to access online services at WCC such as MyWCC, where students register for classes and check their grades and employees view their pay stubs, time off balances, and other payroll and benefits information.
- Since I already know that my netID is the part of my WCC email address that comes before the @ sign, do I still have to set up a netID account?
Yes. Setting up an account includes choosing a password. You need both your netID and your password to access online services at WCC.
- When should I set up my netID account?
Set up your account as soon as you receive the letter containing your WCC ID number (it’s in the format @00000000). You’ll need your WCC ID number when you set up your netID account.
- I don’t know my WCC ID and when I try to use my Social Security number to set up an account it doesn’t work. What do I do?
You must bring a photo ID to the Student Connection so that we can update our records to allow you to set up an account.
- When I tried to log in using my netID, I got an error message. What do I do?
Make sure the caps lock key on your keyboard is off. Then try reentering your netID and password, remembering that they’re case sensitive. If this doesn’t work it’s possible that the password you are entering is incorrect. Reset your password and trying logging in again. If this doesn’t work:

- Employees: Call the Help Desk at 734-973-3456.
- My account seems to be locked. What do I do?
You must have your account reset and then go through the account set up process again. To have your account reset:
- Students: Call the Student Connection at 734-973-3543.
- Employees: Call the Help Desk at 734-973-3456.
- I called and got my account reset, but I still can’t get in. What do I do?
You’ll have to go through the account setup again before you’ll be able to log in.
- What do I do if I forget my netID?
To retrieve your netID, visit the Forgot netID page and fill out the brief form. You’ll need to enter your name, WCC ID number (it’s in the format @00000000) or Social Security number, and date of birth.
- What do I do if I forget my password?
Visit the Forgot Password page, where you’ll need to enter your netID, name, and date of birth. Then answer the security question and enter a new password.
- How do I change my password?
Log into your account, click on Change Password, enter your old password, and enter your new password.
- How do I change my security questions?
Log into your account, click on Change Security Questions, then choose three new questions and enter your answers.
